My Story

Brad Webb is the President and Co-Founder of State-Of-The-Art-Sites. You probably know him best from the very popular email marketing website, State-Of-The-Art-Mailer and BucketsofBanners (BoB).

Brad’s wife, Theresa, shares his story in the hopes that it will inspire others that have some life challenges to overcome them.

A Tale Of Two Tragedies In A 10 Year Period For Brad Webb.

In 1999, Brad Webb had a series of personal “life-changing” events that happened to him in a matter of a couple of weeks. While he only shares what those events were with people he is close to, or those that need a source of inspiration, I can tell you that they were the type of events that either destroys a life or defines it.

You see, many can claim strength of character and most believe that if they were ever faced with a horrific event, they would rise above it and prevail. However, until they are tested with that type of event in their life, they never really “know” what they are truly made of. Until that moment, Brad Webb was only tested to some degree in sports which I explain later on in his story.

Those events redefined Brad Webb’s life and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, he’s a fighter that will never give up. Little did he know, he was about to be tested once again just a few years later.

Flash forward 8 years and Brad Webb found himself in yet another series of “life-changing” events. He lost his job due to the economy, made some bad choices, his 20 year marriage was dissolving, and everything he spent the last 30 years building was lost.

I can’t begin to share with you what it must feel like to be in your 40’s and have to start all over again with nothing. I’m sure, in this economy, there are many that are faced with exactly that same situation. However, this time, he was armed with a sense of self and a determination to never give up that he learned from his previous experience.

While I’m not advocating you put yourself in situations that will test your character, I do propose that you perceive any challenges in life as opportunities to grow and develop as a person. There’s a reason people climb mountains, run marathons or do extreme sports. Brad Webb is an athlete that has experienced that to some degree playing football and wrestling in high school.

For those that have ever pushed their physical limits in sports, you know what I’m talking about. At some point, your body is telling you to quit because it hurts beyond belief. Pushing past those limits on sheer will elevate you to a higher spiritual plane that you can only know once you’ve experienced it.

Brad Webb Becomes The Comeback Kid.. Well, Not So Much A Kid Anymore.

As previously mentioned, Brad Webb was starting all over again and ready to do whatever it took to get back on top. However, after making a six-figure salary for over decade as a corporate sales executive, he found the economy was somewhat unforgiving and he was faced with many roadblocks trying to get back to that same level. After several failed attempts at gaining employment in a dried up market, he made a decision to apply his skills and give a shot at making a living online.

He was faced with two options… make it happen… OR …. Plan B.

What was his Plan B? He didn’t have one! He had to make his online business happen or he was in real trouble.

It would have been very easy for him to just give up. He was faced with just about every obstacle you could be faced with and the odds were against him. When he started online, he had no experience to draw on, he was technologically inept, and had absolutely no connections with anybody that could help him.

I remember thinking, “why the heck would anybody try to make it in this impossible environment?”

I supported him anyway because what I’ve learned about Brad Webb was this man has a fire in his belly, incredible sales management skills, and a strong sense of self. If he doesn’t give up, he’s got as good of a chance as any.

So, Brad began his online career and his first goal was to meet some business partners that possessed skills he didn’t have at the time while he brought 20 years worth of sales management and team development to the table. He did and as a result, Brad is considered one of the most branded names in the Safelist/Mailer community.

Was it easy? Heck no, there were many nights when I would listen to all the frustrations he was faced with throughout the day not really having an understanding of how it all worked. However, he pressed forward like he always does.

I plan on retiring soon and Brad has already established a thriving business for me to be a part of soon.

A Personal Victory As Told By Brad Webb.

First of all, I would like to thank the love of my life, Theresa, for telling my story. I tend to be a private person and she’s larger than life and is always willing to talk or share things with others, even at the grocery store. Theresa has been a daily source of inspiration and support since I met her. She is by far the most amazing woman I’ve ever met and continues to support and encourage me to be all I can be online and in life. I don’t deserve you baby and thank god every day to have a woman like you in my life.

My two Daughters observed these challenging times in my life but also watched me overcome them. Many parents don’t realize that your children watch how you handle things and will most likely do what you do when they face their own dilemmas. Be a source of inspiration and guidance for them as they’ll need that later on in life. If you feel like quitting because it becomes too much, have them be your “why” for those that are parents out there.

Brad Webb Sums It All Up.

In conclusion, if you are new to marketing online and can relate to my story, do not lose hope. Create a daily routine for yourself, seek out connections that can compensate for what you lack, learn something new every day.. and NEVER GIVE UP! If you do so, you cannot be defeated!

I hope my story inspires you to go all the way in this online business. If I can do it with what I’ve faced in my life, so can you. We all possess a skill that somebody else is lacking… even if it’s just desire and drive. Seek out what that skill is in you and I promise you, there are others out there that need what you have to go all the way too.

If you can relate to my story and possess a fighting spirit, I would like to connect with you.  We are all faced with challenges in life and you either become a champion or a victim. I like to surround myself with people that are champions. If you’re built from that mold, contact me at: FacebookBrad Webb or GPlusBrad Webb and share your story with me. If you’re a victim that likes to complain about what you don’t have, you need not contact me or you’ll find yourself unfriended or removed from my circles. I do not waste time on victims as that is a “choice” you make when confronted with challenges.
